James Alanson Frye was born June 12, 1930 to James F. and Claudia L. Frye in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Greta Frye, and his second wife, just 5 months ago, Dani Frye.
Jim is survived by his brother Charles Russ FryeJune and nephew Michael, sister Patricia Carol WildingWhite Fred and nephew James, his children, Calvin Craig Hall Polly, Danitsa Leah Neumann Vinny, and Micah Woodul Chris and his grandchildren Michelle Garcia, Ann Padilla, Ondrea Barber, Calvin Beavers, Kyler Woodul and Grady Woodul and 5 great grandchildren.
Jim is a graduate of New Mexico State University and Cameron University. He also attended Georgia Tech. He played Varsity football at all three colleges and earned his BSME from New Mexico State. He truly loved the sport of football and was fortunate to play professionally in the early stages of the NFL. He was a Senior Engineer at Halliburton, Chief Mechanical Engineer at Cabot in Pampa, TX, and Senior Project Manager for Kerr McGee Nuclear Division. Next, he created his own Engineering Firm, EDC Engineering which he owned and operated for over 40 years in both Oklahoma and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jim implemented many successful projects and created many successful patents in his life.
Jim served his country through the U.S. Maritime Service, U.S. Naval Reserve Active Duty, and U.S. Air Force. He received a Bronze Star. Because of his military service and engineering career, Jim was able to travel the world. He loved telling stories about his travels and especially loved reminiscing about the delicious meals he had.
