Jack R. Crawford of Ruidoso, NM passed away June 24, 2012 at the age of 90. Jack was born in Jacksonville, TX October 8, 1921. Mr. Crawford served as a Naval pilot during World War II in the South Pacific. After serving on active duty, he continued his military service in the Naval Reserve. Jack graduated from Jacksonville High School and attended Lon Morris College. He earned a degree in Geology at Texas Tech in 1950. Jack retired in 1983 from civil service at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, TX where he and his lived for 35 years. Jack was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Ruidoso.
Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Valeria Crawford and 3 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobby Tubbs Crawford two sons, Rhonnie Crawford of Alto, NM and Jerry Crawford and his wife Barbara of Helena, MT sister, Elizabeth Watson of Refugio, TX 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 26, at 3:00 PM at the Community United Methodist Church in Ruidoso with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family has requested memorials to your favorite charity.
