Ismael Ysasi

It is with great sadness that family and friends of Ismael “Ish” Ysasi, announce his unexpected journey into eternal life on Saturday May 8, 2021 at the age of 48.

Ish was born in Ruidoso, NM on April 2, 1973. He was a graduate of Ruidoso High School, and after spending many years in Ohio, Indiana and Texas, he recently returned home to the Ruidoso area.  Ish was a loving husband, father, friend and everyone’s “brother” who left his mark on all of our hearts.  He displayed a high level of care and self-sacrifice for those he loved.   Ish was an amazing talented cook, had an unforgettable smile, his laugh and witty humor leaves us with many happy memories.  Among those memories is that Ish was known to belt out great riffs on his guitar and had a passion for fishing, his kindness, and the cherished influences in the lives of so many.  His newest hobby of riding the wind with his wife on their Harley brought him great joy.

Ish was proceeded in death by his mother Gloria Ysasi and his grandparents Pedro and Lilly Ysasi.   He is survived by his wife Chris Hendrickson Ysasi, his 15-year-old son Joseph Elias Ysasi and his 11-year-old daughter Abigail Dawn Ysasi, his sister Elda Mendoza Herrera, two nephews, Justin and Michael Duncan, three grand-nephews Jacob, Mathew, and Benjamin Duncan.  Also left to cherish his memory are numerous friends whom he called family.

Services will be May 27, 2021 at Ruidoso Downs First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m.
