Henry B. Rue

Henry B. Rue, born on October 19, 1934, in Dexter, New Mexico, passed away on December 29, 2024, in Ruidoso, New Mexico, with his family by his side.

Henry was a self-made man who embodied a strong work ethic, working since the age of five. He came from humble beginnings and dedicated himself to providing a wonderful life for his beloved wife and four children. Known as "Henry of all trades," he had the remarkable ability to fix anything. This skill made him a cherished figure, especially among his grandchildren, whom he employed as his plumbers’ helpers. Henry’s commitment to his family and his unwavering support will be dearly missed. His generosity was evident not only in his deeds and financial support but also in the time he spent mentoring and helping those around him.

He is survived by his sons, Dean Rue, and Jodie Rue; daughters, Brenda McCracken (Sean), and Catrina Archer (Todd); grandchildren, CaSandra Downs (Eric), Jesse Vinyl Downs, Warren McCracken (Riley), Penny Stout (James), Joshua Rue, Kasie Rue (Liberty), Tobie Ruiz (Eugene III), and Autemn Judd; great grandchildren, Oliver McCracken, Jayden Stout, Kason McClowskey, Nicholas Painter, Jeremiah Painter, Brodie Rue, Gradie Rue, and Talitha Isabelle Ruiz; siblings, Gary Rue (Pat), Nora Sanchez (Danny), Sister Gonzales (Felix), Bonnie Sanchez (Rene), and Dorothy Skarda (Ray). 

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Lenore Benevides and George H. Rue; wife, Isabell Romero Rue; grandson, Jessie Dean Rue; siblings, Barney Rue, Dudley Rue, Cedric Rue, and Martha Rue. 

The Rosary Service will be held at 6:00PM Friday, January 10, 2025 at St. Joseph's Apache Mission Catholic Church in Mescalero, New Mexico. Memorial Mass will be held the next day at 10:00AM Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at the same location.

Henry leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and love, forever remembered by his family and community.
