Gregorio M. Baca Was born in San Patricio, NM on April 19, 1939 in a little adobe house across the river from the old Catholic Church. A man of dignity, respect, caring in nature, and a provider for his family at any cost. This is how I describe my father who grew up in a time where the child had to put all his education means aside because support for his mother, brothers and sisters was of first importance. When he became a young man, he lived in Ruidoso Downs. Greg rode wild horses and bulls; he lived a lively crazy life. He was a cowboy, there wasn’t a horse he couldn’t break! Greg became a dirt contractor and was one of the best operators around. Till his last breath all he wanted to do was to be able to work.
He is survived by his children, Jimmy Baca, Jerry Romero, Greg Baca Jr., Joe Quinonez, Delilah Hurst, Kaitlyn Baca, Zenida Carter, Andrea Chavez, Jeanette Baca, Nanc Baca, Josephine Baca; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Bobbie Mendoza, Larry Baca and Pete Baca; and was preceded in death by a sister, Cruzita Chavez.
