Goldie Stierwalt

Visitation for Goldie L. Stierwalt, 83 of Ruidoso Downs, will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday December 23, 2009 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday December 24, 2009 at the Gateway Church of Christ with John Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Stierwalt was born on February 15, 1926 in Ramona, Oklahoma to Oscar and Edna Dixon Fortney and passed away on December 21, 2009 at her home in Ruidoso Downs. She grew up and went to school in Delaware, Oklahoma and graduated from Delaware High School. She lived in Portales as a homemaker from 1944 to 1952. She and her husband moved to Ruidoso in 1952 and after 2 years moved to Ruidoso Downs. She was retired from, after 20 years, Lincoln County Medical Center as a Unit Secretary.

Mrs. Stierwalt is survived by 4 children, Charlotte Briggs of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico, Ronald Stierwalt of Aurora, Colorado, Darrel Stierwalt of Alto, New Mexico and Janice Underwood of Central, Arizona. She is also survived by 3 brothers, 4 sisters, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
