Gladys Spurlin

July 21, 1914 — January 13, 2014

Gladys Spurlin went home to be with our Lord on January 13, 2014. Her family has chosen to celebrate Memaw with a celebration of life memorial service and internment on July 21, 2014 in Haskell, Texas at 10:00 am. This would have been Gladys 100th birthday. She loved her family more than anything and would have wanted everyone to be together to share stories and laugh on this day.

Gladys life consisted of hard work with her husband, Elmer. Together they ran Black River Village ranch, dairy, and farm, as well as Spurlin Dairy in Carlsbad, NM. Hobbs Ice, Hobbs, NM, Tatum Variety Store, Tatum NM, and managed motels in Lubbock, Canyon, and Amarillo. Gladys, enjoyed retirement and family in Midland, Tx. Roswell, NM, and Ruidoso, NM. She passed away while living at Betty Dare Good Samaritan Nursing Facility in Alamogordo, NM

Gladys was proceeded in death by her husband, Elmer Odell Spurlin in 1982 and her daughter Robbie June Hamm in 2002. She is survived by her son Odell Spurlin and wife Patty, Ruidoso, NM. Six grandchildren. Gail Shephard, Peoria, AZ, Pamela HammNolan and husband Larry, San Antonio, TX, Priscilla Cupp and husband Buzz, Austin, TX, Eddy Spurlin and wife Jill, Albuquerque, NM, Pat Spurlin and wife LeiRonna, San Antonio, TX, Mandy Mader and husband David, Ruidoso, NM, and Eight great grandchildren David, Trevor, Matthew, Stevie, McKinsie, Eric, Hannah, and Joshua.

The family wishes to thank Betty Dare Nursing Home for their love and care of Gladys for the last years of her life.
