Gerald Allen Comanche Sr., 68, of Mescalero passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at his home. He was born March 24, 1948 at Lawton, Oklahoma and lived most of his life at Mescalero. He served in Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a Medicine Man of Maidens, was a road surveyor and firefighter for the Mescalero Apache Tribe.
He is survived by his children, Lee Ann Comanche, Geralyn Comanche, MariLee Comanche, Donna Comanche, Gerald Allen Comanche Jr. and Geraldine Comanche; his siblings, Leatrice Comanche, Archiebald Comanche, Tommy Lee Comanche and Patricia Boyebi; and 16 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, August 8, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with a wake to follow at his residence. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. at Comanche Elk Springs Cemetery.
