George Read

Memorial service for George Edward Read, 89, of Ruidoso will be Tuesday, November 3, at 11:00 AM in the Gateway Church of Christ with Jimmy Sportsman officiating. Mr. Read passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 in Ruidoso. He was born February 22, 1920 at Paradise, Texas. He served in the Navy during World War II, retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety after 36 years as a Captain of Intelligence. He moved to Ruidoso in September, 1990 from Houston, Texas. He was a member of Gateway Church of Christ. He married Carleen Sanders on August 5, 1960. He is survived by his wife, Carleen of Ruidoso; three daughters, Charlotte Ann Nation and her husband Bob of Ft. Worth, Texas, Glenda Sue Binnion and her husband Billy W. of Houston, Texas and Susan Kay McCoslin of Houston, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. The family has requested memorials to Gateway Church of Christ, 415 Sudderth Dr., Ruidoso, NM 88345.
