Evelith Torres

Evelith Leora Torres was born on September 14, 1963 in Mescalero, NM. She died on November 29, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 46. Evelith is survived by her daughter Sharla Torres, son-in-law, Robert Morgan; step-son, Alden Torres Jr.; mother, Lucy Smith; brothers, Delbert Mendez, Verdis Pebeashy, Larry Shay, John Franklin, Warren Smith, and Phillip Smith; sisters, Carmen Morgan and Darla Smith. Ms. Torres is preceded in death by her husband, Alden Torres Sr.; father, Ambrose Smith and brother Elwin Peabeashy Sr.. She graduated from Tularosa High School in 1982. After high school she had various jobs throughout the reservation. She lived at Mescalero all of her life. Prayer service for Evelith will be Thursday, Dec. 3, at 6:00 PM in the Family Worship Center at Mescalero where the funeral service will be on Friday, Dec. 4, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.
