Eva Chavez

Prayer service for Eva Mae Chavez of San Patricio will be Friday, Jan. 16, at 6:30 PM in St. Jude's Catholic Church at San Patricio where the funeral mass will be on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at the Hondo Cemetery. Mrs. Chavez passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 in Ruidoso, she was born at Ft. Davis, Texas to Anita and Joe Dutchover who both precede her in death. She has lived in Lincoln County since 1946. She was a cook at the Hondo Schools and Ruidoso Downs Racetrack. She attended St. Jude's Catholic Church. She married Harold Chavez in February, 1946 at Carrizozo and he preceded her in death in 1965. She is survived by 5 daughters, Alice Romero, Rosemary Montoya, Mae Ranne, Betty Miranda, and Lucy Chavez; a son-in-law, Albert Chavez; a brother, Richard Dutchover; 23 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Harold Chavez, Dickie Chavez, and Jimmy Chavez and seven brothers.
