Eugene Chavez

Prayer service for Geno Chavez, 63, of Carrizozo will be Sunday, Aug. 8, at 7:00 PM at Santa Ritas Catholic Church in Carrizozo where the funeral mass will be on Monday, Aug. 9, at 10:00 AM, burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrizozo.

Mr. Chavez passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at his home. He was born March 5, 1947 at Carrizozo and had lived there all of his life. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, he was a retired foreman from Southern Pacific Railroad. He loved to hunt and spend time with his family and friends. He married Donna on March 25, 2006 in Carrizozo.

He is survived by his wife Donna two sons, Sam Chavez of Alto and Nikko Chavez and his wife Diane of Carrizozo his mother, Rosa Chavez of Carrizozo sister, Lorena LaMay of Capitan 3 stepchildren, Craig Koroscil and his wife Amber of Maryland, Eric Koroscil and Troy Koroscil both of Carrizozo 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Chavez, Lindsay Chavez, Noah Koroscil and Connor Koroscil and his beloved sidekick Smokey.

Cremation is under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso.
