Ernest Archuleta

Ernest Archuleta, 77, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, and Uncle was called to his eternal resting place on April 25, 2023. He entered this world on February 21, 1946, in Carrizozo, NM and was born to Florencio and Maria Archuleta.

After graduating from Carrizozo High School, he went on to join the United States Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War in 1967 and 1968 and was stationed at Bien Hoa Air Base.

After returning from Vietnam, Ernest married his wife Linda in 1971 and settled in Carrizozo, NM where he worked for the State Highway Department from which he retired after 23 years.

Ernest was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Archuleta, his father Florencio Archuleta, his mother Maria Archuleta, his sister Louisa Ramirez, his sister Elvira Lucero, his brother Guillermo Archuleta and his brother Gilbert Archuleta.

He is survived by his wife Linda Archuleta; daughter Lisa Zamora; son Ernest D. Archuleta Jr.; daughter Rene Archuleta; daughter Valerie Godby and spouse Joshua Godby; son Anthony Archuleta and spouse Krista Fattore; daughter Rachel Archuleta; grandson Johnny Beltran Jr. and fiancé Antoinette Jansen; granddaughter Taylor Archuleta; grandson Anthony Romero; grandson Steven Zamora; granddaughter Kenisha Zamora; great-granddaughter Alexus Beltran; great-granddaughter Keira Beltran; great-grandson Johnny Beltran III; and great-grandson Jayden Beltran.

Family and friends are invited to Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo, NM for a rosary service at 1:00 and a funeral service at 1:30 on Saturday, May 6, 2023. A burial service will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will include Ernest D. Archuleta Jr., Anthony Archuleta, Johnny Beltran Jr., Anthony Romero, Joshua Godby, Guy Archuleta and Frank Gallegos Jr.
