Ermando Chavez

Funeral services for Ermando Chavez, 96, of Hondo will be Wednesday, June 9, at 7:00 PM in the Tinnie Baptist Church at Tinnie, NM. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 10, at 10:00 AM at the Hondo Cemetery.

Mr. Chavez passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso. He was born February 24, 1914 at Hondo, NM to Pablo and Amada Chavez who both precede him in death. He lived in Lincoln County all of his life. He owned the first fruit stand in the Hondo Valley and was a farmer in the Hondo Valley. He attended the Tinnie Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Robert Chavez and his wife Nancy of Campbell, CA, Oziel Chavez and his wife Lorena of Los Lunas, NM, Luis Chavez of San Jose, CA, Lillian Garcia and her husband Danny of Ruidoso and Lucy Haun of Hondo 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aneda Chavez on September 24, 1999 his children, Adelita Chavez, Viola Ann Chavez, Daniel E. Chavez, Jeanne Marquez, Abraham Chavez, Ola Robnett, Paul Chavez and a grandson, Tony Chavez.
