Eliseo Sanchez

Visitation for Eliseo Alex B. Sanchez was from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Thursday July 2, 2009 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel and a Vigil service was at 6:00 PM at St. Josephs Apache Mission Catholic Church in Mescalero. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday July 3, 2009 at St. Josephs. Fr. Paul Botenhagen will officiate. Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.

Mr. Sanchez was born on July 10, 1933 in what then was known as Hollywood, New Mexico to Jose Sanchez and Estephanita Stephanie Benavidez Sanchez. He was a Laborer at Holloman Air Force Base for 15 years and where he met his wife Verma in Alamogordo and were married on November 19, 1978. They then moved to Mescalero where Alex went to work at the Mescalero Saw Mill. Mr. Sanchez loved to fish and ride horses, but most of all loved to be with his family especially his grand children.

Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his wife Verma in 2006, a son, Oscar Jolsanny in 1991, both his parents Jose and Stephanie Sanchez and his brothers, Alfred and Willie Sanchez.

Mr. Sanchez is survived by his daughters, Dora Buurma, Mildra Saenz, and Minnie Mendez and husband Cruz. He is also survived by his sons, Glendon Sanchez and wife Tarragon and Maylon Sanchez and wife Walinda; his sisters, Nell Jaramillo, Viola Rue, Lydia Legan, Flora Brant and Liz Benson and his brother Sele Sanchez; his grandchildren, Austin Buurma, Quinn Saenz, Jessica Buurma, Dakota Buurma, Anthony Mendez, Lucianna Shendo Sanchez, Glynnith Shendo Sanchez, Cross Shendo Sanchez, and Paige Rivera and numerous nieces and nephews.
