Edward Vega

The prayer service for Edward S. Vega, 76, of Carrizozo will be Sunday, July 18, at 7:00 PM in Santa Ritas Catholic Church where the funeral mass will be on Monday, July 19, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Carrizozo.

Mr. Vega passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born January 20, 1934 in Carrizozo to Amanda and Jose Vega. Mr. Vega loved to hunt, had a sense of humor and loved his family. He worked for Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroad. He lived in Lincoln County all of his life and attended Santa Ritas Catholic Church. He married Josie Otero in November, 1956 and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2004.

He is survived by 5 sons, Edward E. Vega Jr. of Belen, Arthur G. Vega of Las Cruces, Eric R. Vega of Channing, TX and Angelo I. Vega of Las Cruces and Dennis A. Vega of Carrizozo a daughter, Roberta L. Franck of Carrizozo a sister, Mary McKinley of Las Cruces 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
