Memorial service for Eda Evelyn Baird, 93, of Alto will be Saturday, Oct. 30, at 10:00 AM in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel of Las Cruces.

Mrs. Baird passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at her home. She was born July 27, 1917 at Tularosa. She was in the Army during World War II, she was involved with the Girl Scouts of America, the Boy Scouts of America, a member of PHI BETTA KAPPA, Past President of New Mexico Teachers Association, a Dona Ana County 4H Advisor, a FFA New Mexico advisor and had served as secretary of Las Cruces Little League Baseball.

She married James A. Baird on September 20, 1947 at Tularosa and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1989.

Survivors include a son, Jack Baird a daughter, Dana Kay Woodward and her husband Gary 6 grandchildren, Vanessa Maine, Valorie Baird, Tammy Baird, Derrick Woodward, Ester Early, and Gail Gomez 4 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve A. Baird in August, 1988.

The family has requested memorials to the Ruidoso Home Care Foundation, PO Box 2019, Ruidoso, NM 88355
