Douglas Becker

Douglas L Becker, 70 transferred his address from earth to heaven on October 18, 2012. He was surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Capitan, NM. We will have a celebration of his life October 27, 2012 at 10:30am at Canaan Trail Baptist Church in Alto, NM.

Doug was born June 20, 1942 in Flagler, Co to Leander and Madeline Becker. He was raised on a farm south of Vona, Co. He graduated from Vona High School in 1961. On May 5, 1962 he married Peggy Ann Claxton of Arvada, Co. He was a farmerrancher, he also served as county commissioner and school board member. Doug and his family left the farm in 1977 to pursue several business ventures which brought him to Ruidoso in 1988. He owned and operated Beckers Mountain Laundry. His passion in life was sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to those he met. He was an active member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Ruidoso. For the past three years he has been a member of Canaan Trail Baptist Church.

Mr BeckerPops is survived by his wife, Peggy, of fifty years and children, daughter, Shari Reynolds and husband, Rodney of Ruidoso, NM, daughter, Susi Gibbs and husband, Terry of Carrizozo, NM and son Mike Becker and wife, Amber of Dublin, GA. Seven grandchildren, Morgan Jake Cripps, Zac Reynolds, Zane Reynolds, Blayne Becker, Tinsley Becker, Haley Jason Reedy and Casey Shannon Gibbs and 5 great grandchildren. Two sisters, Arlene Dean Wigton, Donna Marie Becker and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
