Don Herron passed away peacefully in his home with his son, Gary Herron and daughter, Jean Briley on June 13, 2012. Daddy was born on July 7, 1929 in Clarksville, Texas. His aspirations in life were many as a young boy living through the dustbowl days in Oklahoma He served our country in the Korean War and married the love of his life, Frances Herron in August of 1952. Shortly after that came two children, Gary and Jean Ann. Dad was a man of many talents who touched many lives throughout the years. He was a son, brother to his sister, Margaret Boyer and brother, Roger Herron who are still with us today. As a father he was the best and as he moved through his career as teacher, coach, and leader he touched many lives. As a husband he was devoted and loved his wife Frances Herron who passed away in 2006. They had a loving life together for over 50 years. He was the light of many lives, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren who will miss him dearly. They will remember the happy times and most of all the advice he gave to his children and grandchildren that is priceless. To Lenora Mendoza we love you and thank you for taking such good care of dad these past 2 years. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to Ruidoso Home Care Hospice, PO Box 2019, Ruidoso, NM 88355. Special thanks to Judy Ulate, Hospice nurse. Without her care, compassion, and support we would not have made it through this timedaddy loved you like family.
