David Martinez

September 4, 1967 — April 9, 2016

One or the other must leave, one or the other must stay,
one or the other must grieve, that is forever the way.
That is the vow that was sworn, faithful 'til death do us part.
Braving what has to be borne, widening the ache in the heart.
One how so ever adored, first must be summoned away.
That is the will of the Lord- one or the other must stay

David G Martinez passed away unexpectedly in his home that he shared with his wife in Carrizozo New Mexico on April 9th 2016. David G Martinez was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on September 4, 1967. He was survived by his wife Tonjah Martinez, his daughter Skye Martinez, as well as his mom-n-laws Chris and Liz, His mother Belma Martinez, His brother's Ricky and wife Kim, Joe and Johnny as well as his sister's Helen (Sherrie) and Sophie and husband Abe. David was also survived by brothers Dallton, Collton, Hunter, and sisters, Tabitha and Marissa, as well as good friend Kristina and Baby Gannon as well as many nieces and nephews.

David was a man nobody can replace... at least not in my heart. We've been married for 5 months but together 4 years. What we had was not a perfect marriage but as people say... David and I were perfect for each other and we were! David was a disciplinarian. He was strict but not stiff and he loved our daughter so much. Our daughter loved him tremendously because David never feared showing his emotions towards her, towards me or to just about anyone he loved. He was indeed affectionate and was not a man of few words at all! David had lots to say for just about anything. Anyone who ever had the chance to talk to him would say, he indeed had lots of things in his mind. I guess you can say David was "opinionated". I still remember one conversation I had with him. We were talking about our daughter. About how we wanted to see her grow up. He had lots of dreams for her. David was a proud father. He was the type of father who would flaunt our daughter to his friends. David dreamt big. He wanted our daughter to grow up wise, God fearing, respectful and successful. David lived his life the best way he could. He never had enemies nor did he step on anyone. David was well loved .How could he not be? He was such a kind soul. The type of person you can't get enough of. Well, at least I think of him that way. I married him, didn't I? If I could live all over again and would go back to the time when David asked me to marry him, even for a million times all over I would still say yes! Marrying him was the best decision I ever made in my life and I would not change that even if I had the chance to do so... not even for a handsome prince charming. That's how much I love my husband... That's how much I will keep on loving him. David is in heaven now. He has joined his dad Jose, brother's Danny, Adan and Sammy as well his sister's Socorro, Rose (Spike) and Yolanda and other friends now. I'm sure he is happy there because in heaven there is peace. David, I know we will see each other again. I will feel your warm embrace again and our souls will unite for an eternity together in heaven.

In the meantime, please do guide us as we live our life here on earth. Do watch over our daughter and family do protect us from harm. David, you will always be remembered and you will always live in our hearts for as long as we live. We love you so much and we will miss you every day.
