Colleen Widener, age 84, passed away on December 5, 2024 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Colleen was born on January 4, 1940 in Littlefield, Texas.
Colleen was a hard working woman, always working multiple jobs. Her and her husband owned properties all over the state. She retired from Visions after 35 years, and was always the life of the store. Colleen always had a warm smile and plenty of conversation for everyone. She was loved no matter where she was or who she was with. She also had a fun and playful side. She loved to gamble and it was always 5 o'clock somewhere.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca McDaniel, and Kendra Marquez; grandchildren, Tiffany Burgess, Frances Taylor, Tabitha Case, Brandon Widener, Jamee McDaniel, and Kamen Marquez; great grandchildren, Sadona Zimmerman, Silence Achterberg, Genivieve Liston, Millicent Moralez, Dakota Moralez, Luke Ward, Brynleigh McDaniel, Noah McDaniel, Caleb Burgess, Jaxson McDaniel, and Carter McDaniel; great great grandaughter, Amelia Zimmerman; sister, Corine McCain-Gossett; brother in law, Harold Ray Gossett; niece, Teresa Walker; nephew, Bruce Gossett; son in law, Mark Marquez; grandsons in law, Ricky Ward, Lyle Case; granddaughters in law, Sanoa McDaniel, Shanna Johnson; beloved dogs, Ace, and Rozzie; numerous other family and friends to numerous to mention.
Colleen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Widener; son, Kim Widener; grandson, Jared McDaniel; great grandson, Payson Moralez; grandparents, parents, seven siblings, multiple cousins, and other family members.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Chapel in Ruidoso. Burial will be Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Portales Cemetery in Portales, New Mexico with Pastor Anthony Geraci officiating.
