Bud Hammond

Bud C. Hammond, 81, of Carrizozo died August 9. He was born May 26, 1930 in Greensboro, NC.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ruth Hammond of the family home five sons, Jeff Hammond of Carrizozo, John Hammond of Monett, MO, Josh Hammond of Carrizozo, Jim Hammond of Monett, MO and Jerry Hammond of Roswell one daughter, Jann Moberly of Farmington, NM special family member Tracy Wimberly of Monett, MO, 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Bud served in the U.S. Marines and earned the Korean Service Medal w2w, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean PUC and Good Conduct Medal.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 15 at 11:00 a.m. with Hayden Smith officiating at the Fort Stanton Merchant Marine and Military Memorial Cemetery with American Legion performing honors. Buds five sons will be pallbearers.

A memorial dinner will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Carrizozo at 1:00 p.m. following the graveside services at Fort Stanton.
