Billy Herrera

Billy Joe Herrera, 64, of San Patricio passed away Wednesday, November 13, at his home in San Patricio.  He was born December 20, 1954 in Ruidoso to Elisa and Manuel Herrera who both precede him in death.

He is survived by his twin sister, Josephine Booky and her husband, Robert; sister, Lucy Sanchez and her husband, Robert; brother, Pasqual Herrera and his wife, Laura; sisters-in-law, Emma, Sharon and Josie.  Many nieces, nephews which he loved.  Joe is also preceded in death by sisters, Elena and Flora; brothers, Ben, Benito, Leopoldo, Manuel, Leo, Luis and Johnny.  He will be deeply missed.

He went to college at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM for two years.  He then went to work at Fort Stanton for the Mentality Challenge Institution for many years until it closed.  He then went to work in Roswell at the Rehab Center until he retired at the age of 45, he also had worked at the Inn of the Mountain Gods.

The rosary service will be Monday, November 25, at 9:30 A.M. in St. Jude Catholic Church where the funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M.  Burial will follow at St. Jude Catholic Church.
