Betty Smith

Visitation for Betty Smith, 62, of Mescalero will be Sunday, March 21, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The Rosary will be Monday, March 22, at 9:00 AM at St. Josephs Mission with the funeral mass to follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.

Betty passed away on Thursday, March 18, at the Mescalero Care Center. She was born September 21, 1947 at Mescalero to Marjorie and Amador Martinez II who both precede her in death and had lived most of her life at Mescalero. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Mescalero Housing Authority.

She is survived by her four children, Ericka Waters, Michael Bo Smith, Pete Amador Rocha, Rose Marie Begay thirteen brothers and sisters, Carmen Saenz, Peggy Vigil, Amador Martinez III, Edward Martinez, Cloyce Salazar, Roy Martinez, Jacqueline Calderon, David Melendrez, Gina Perez, Maria Saenz, Ruby Lathan, Jessie Martinez, and Ben Martinez and six grandchildren.
