Betty Efurd

Betty Darlene Carpenter Efurd, 76, of Ruidoso Downs passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at her home. She was born April 23, 1938 at Quitaque, Texas to Charlie and Lorene Carpenter who both precede her in death.

She moved to Lincoln County in 1997 from Farmington, NM where she had taught in the Farmington Schools for 25 years. She attended the Community United Methodist Church. She married Carl Efurd on September 23, 1961 at Ruidoso Downs, NM.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; 3 daughters, Rachel Jouett of Ropesville, TX, Crystal Stallings of Ruidoso Downs, NM and Jennifer McNeill of Grants, NM; a sister, Debbie Behringer of Spring, TX; a brother, Jimmy Carpenter of Ruidoso and 4 grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Carpenter.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the funeral service on Thursday, March 19, at 10:30 AM in Community United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
