Benny Sanchez

Benny L. Sanchez, 52, of Ruidoso Downs passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Roswell, NM. He was born October 19, 1962 at Ruidoso and had lived in Lincoln County all of his life.

He graduated from Hondo High School in 1982, worked for the City of Ruidoso Downs for 18 years and was driving truck PW1 and coached all Little League Sports. He was a member of the Ruidoso Downs First Southern Baptist Church and was a bus driver for the church.

He is survived by his children, Melinda McTeigue of Ruidoso, Benjamin Sanchez Jr. of Ruidoso and Isaac Sanchez of Steamboat Springs, CO; his brothers and sisters, Josie Torres, Margie Misquez, Kathy Cordova, Joe Sanchez, Pauline Sanchez, Mary Rodela, Robert Sanchez, Nellie Lueras, Richard Sanchez, and Phyllis Chee; one granddaughter, Jeneah Sanchez, 39 nieces and nephews, 61 great nieces and nephews and numerous godchildren; Grandma Veda Chee; uncle, Paul Sanchez; aunt, Cathy Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo M. and Verlinda G. Sanchez; brother, Raymond Sanchez, nephew, Robert G. Sanchez and great nephew, Gabriel Briggs.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Rosary will be Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Ruidoso Downs First Southern Baptist Church at 7:00 PM with the funeral service at 10:00 AM on Thursday. Burial will follow at St. Jude's Catholic Cemetery at San Patricio.
