Benjamin Martinez

Receiving of friends for Benjamin M. Martinez, 73, of Ruidoso Downs will be Thursday, Jan. 3, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be on Friday, Jan. 4, at 10:00 AM in St. Eleanor's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Mr. Martinez passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, in Ruidoso. He was born November 8, 1934 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. He moved to Lincoln County in 1990 from Portland, Oregon. He was working at Wal-Mart and had served in the Army and attended St. Eleanor's Catholic Church. He is survived by his brothers and sister; Rose Mendez of Houston, Texas, Mary Lambert of Missouri City, Texas, Moises Martinez of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, John Martinez of Greenfield, Wisconsin, and Ezequiel Martinez of Oakcreek, Wisconsin.
