Ann Becky Sprague Sebring, 80, of Capitan was born December 1st, 1929 in New Rochelle New York, and passed away surrounded by her family on November 20, 2010 in Alto.
Becky grew up in Ridgewood New Jersey, and graduated from Bloomfield College. She served as Administrative Assistant, and then Director of Christian Education at Ridgewood Presbyterian church, where she met, and then married William Stevens Sebring, with whom she spent 54 years of her life with. After their marriage, they left the East, and moved out west to their first parish in North Dakota, followed by Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, and finally New Mexico. Becky loved the Western United States, having briefly worked at both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. She was a painter, and a ceramicist, wrote music for her husband and her children, played the piano, and was an avid rock hound. Becky was also an animal lover, and for a brief time, involved with showing Collie dogs.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Davis and Elizabeth Sebring her sons William Daniel Sebring and Glenn A. Sebring. She is also survivied by two grandsons, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Howard and Harriet Charlotte Sprague, her brother William, her sister Eleanore, and her husband of 54 years, William S. Sebring.
Memorial Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the First Presbyterian Church in Ruidoso at 2:00 PM
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to The Collie Rescue Fund, or Alzheimers Assoc.
