Allen Luallin

Allen W. Luallin, 87, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2009 in Alamogordo after a short illness. Allen was born to Ovid and Nora Luallin on May 8, 1922 in Tahoka, Texas and married Frances Porterfield in May of 1942, all preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Susie Jacobs of Ruidoso; granddaughters, Tisha Jacobs of Phoenix, AZ and Cristy Dix of Centreville, VA; one cousin, J.R. Crouch of Truth or Consequences, NM. He was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather.

He proudly served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. In 1948, Allen and Fran moved to Ruidoso for what was suppose to only be a short time. They decided to stay and forever after called Ruidoso their home. In the beginning, Allen was an early member of the Ruidoso Rotary Club and he was a proud businessman for nearly 40 years. He owned a couple of businesses along the way, the longest running was Allen's Auto Parts. He retired in 1983 to spend more time with his family and would occasionally stop by the garage just to visit. He wasn't doing much in his later years, but still enjoyed living in his own home and watching the birds from his back window while reading the local newspapers. He will be missed greatly.

There will be a memorial service held for Allen on Friday, September, 4, 2009 at the Ruidoso Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. The family requests contributions in lieu of flowersd to be made to the Ruidoso Humane Society.
