Vincent Joseph Kaydahzinne was called home on Christmas day at 8:30 p.m., he was a well-known artist. Vincent is the great-great grandson of the famous Apache Chief Cochise and is also a descendant of the great warrior Kay-dah-zinne and his wife Desh-den-zhoos as well as the great Chiricahua Apache warrior Chatto and his wife Helen Chatto.

Vincent was born and raised on the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation in Mescalero, New Mexico and believed it was his destiny to create and preserve his heritage through music and art. As a sculptor, Vincent won the 2009 Santa Fe Indian Market. He toured the United States as an artist and musical entertainer, playing his guitar and harmonica.

Vincent is survived by his children; Michael Kaydahzinne of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Danica Kaydahzinne and Trey Kaydahzinne, both of Mescalero, New Mexico.He is also survived by his siblings; Freddie Kaydahzinne, Andrea Summa, Lenore Vasile, Birdena Kaydahzinne, and Velda Kaydahzinne, all of Mescalero, New Mexico. Vincent had seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Vincent is proceeded in death by his father William Kaydahzinne, mother Pauline Kaydahzinne, son Vincent Kaydahzinne Jr., wife, Carol Kaydahzinne and numerous siblings.

A prayer service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Saint Joseph’s Apache Mission in Mescalero, New Mexico. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with the burial to follow at the Kaydahzinne Cemetery at Apache Summit.
